Nalwadi Jayanti Celebrations Held in City with Grand Processions

The birth anniversary of Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar was celebrated in the city with grand processions, marking Nalwadi Jayanti. The processions were held on Tuesday, with the participation of various organizations and citizens. The celebrations were organized to commemorate the contributions of Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar, the former king of Mysore.

The processions began from the palace and traversed through the main streets of the city, with tableaux and cultural performances. The participants also distributed pamphlets and raised slogans, including the Tambaku Bittaku (Quit Tobacco) campaign, to create awareness about social issues.
The Deputy Commissioner of Mysore, Dr. K.V. Thrilok Chandra, flagged off the procession, emphasizing the importance of following the footsteps of Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar. He also highlighted the need to promote social welfare schemes, such as the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (Clean India Mission), in the city.

The celebrations were attended by various dignitaries, including the Mayor of Mysore, S. Shivappa, and the President of the Mysore City Corporation, R. Lingappa. The event was organized by a committee headed by R. Vasu, a local businessman, who expressed his gratitude to the participants and the organizers for making the event a success.
