A 30-year-old married woman, Sandhya, was found hanging at her home in Saraswathipuram, Mysuru, with her parents alleging that she was murdered amid ongoing marital disputes. The incident occurred on Monday near Javaregowda Park.
According to police, Sandhya was married to Akshay and the couple had two children. Her parents alleged that she was subjected to harassment and domestic violence by her husband and in-laws. Sandhya’s mother, Geetha Ningaraju, claimed that her son-in-law killed her daughter and later hung the body to make it appear as a suicide. Ningaraju stated that she received a call informing her that her daughter had died by suicide and is now seeking justice for her daughter.
A relative of the deceased, Manjula, also alleged that the couple frequently fought and that family elders had intervened on several occasions to resolve their disputes. Personnel from Saraswathipuram Police Station have initiated an inquiry, and the body has been sent for post-mortem examination to determine whether it was a case of suicide or foul play.
Sandhya’s family is demanding strict punishment for those responsible for her death, leaving behind two children. The investigation is ongoing, and the police are working to determine the cause of Sandhya’s death.
