Kabini Reservoir in Mysore’s region has no water inflow due to lack of rain, affecting people, livestock, and wildlife. The reservoir’s water is being reserved for drinking purposes. Mahadevaswami, a farmer from Anagatti, is concerned about the water shortage. The monsoon season has started slowly, and the rain is not sufficient. Most of the lakes and reservoirs in the taluk are dry. Farmers in some areas have not sown seeds due to insufficient rain and are waiting for more rainfall. If the monsoon season does not improve, the water scarcity will affect not only Kabini but also other reservoirs, lakes, and cities like Mysuru, Bengaluru, and HD Kote, leading to a drinking water crisis. The delayed and insufficient monsoon has already caused problems for the people and farmers in the region.
